Susquehanna Outdoors offers full service site preparation and shed removal, and we have the experience and equipment needed to get the job done right – whether that’s installing a simple shed pad, or a tear down and disposal of your old shed. Our standard shed pad installation includes laser leveling your site, removing sod as needed, and installing approximately 4″ of stone.
We recommend setting your shed on a pad of crushed stone 3 to 4 inches thick. It is important that your shed pad is as level as possible as this helps to prevent the building from sagging and keeps the doors working properly. Cinder blocks or pavers are not recommended to set your building on as this greatly increases the chances of the shed settling or shifting and the doors becoming misaligned – the floor is designed to set on a level solid foundation. If your shed is not set on a stone pad your shed warranty will be voided.
The stone pad should be 1 foot larger than your shed on all sides; example: a 10′ x 16′ shed should have a 12′ x 18′ stone pad. A popular option for shed pads is to build a border around the perimeter to keep the stone in place. You can use pressure-treated beams, railroad ties or rocks. Buildings can also be set on a concrete pad, but if a stone pad is prepared properly it works very well and costs a lot less than a concrete pad.

No problem. We can use pressure-treated beams to create a retaining wall and provide a level foundation – even on challenging sites.
